How to Spend a $100 Target Gift Card

We got a gift card for Target with $100 on it. I would have preferred the money in cash since I could spend it wherever I like but since you HAVE to spend every single cent at Target, Here is what we got...
A new Bra (Finally!)
New Underwear His and Hers
Socks for him
Bleach
Draino
Shampoo
Mascara
The New Liz Phair CD (very good by the way, Exile in Guyville is better)
Cookies (did you know they have food there?)
Juice Boxes
Nutragrain bars
Anti-diarrhea Medicine (you should always have this on hand, right)
Scrunchy bath sponge thingy

and we still have $10 left damn it!

Merry Christmas Mad Cow

We had a great Christmas. I got the really cool hand held steamer for my knitting projects that I wanted. The kids got way to much stuff. They keep bouncing from one thing to another not picking up after themselves...although this is to be expected.

Living in the midst of "Mad Cow Country" (about an hour away) it's kinda scary. We aren't huge meat eaters, maybe once a month we have red meat. Of course, we had prime rib on Sunday before the big news really broke. Grrreeaattt! So be on the look out, if I start seeming more angry than normal....I may have mad cow.

Sleep Please...

This cold kicked my ass last night.

I think I got a total of 4 hrs of sleep. This of course was interrupted by Hbomb getting up 3 or 4 times to use the bathroom(too much water before bed) and my Husband tossing and turning all night. Then of course there was all the sinus pressure and aching ears. Just send sleep please.

I am finishing up on my last holiday knitting project, a scarf for my mom. It is on size 15 needles so it's flying. The problem I'm having is after about an hour of knitting, I get this pain down the back of my right hand. I think it's the heavy needles.

I should really finish the Halloween socks too for Chloe. She grew out of her socks from last year and has been wearing store bought wool socks. Poor thing...

It's All Dawn's Fault!

I have the beginings of a cold and I'm sure I caught it via blogging from Dawn.

Now that the blame is clearly given...
Check out my new weather pixie on the left.

Bucket-o-Hot Lava!

Here it is!

I decided not to felt it because of my test bucket snafu. I really like it though! It is Red Cascade 220 with black fun fur held with it. Very modern Audrey Hepburn looking.

Kiss Me, You Fool!

Will post tomorrow....but in the mean time....
entrancing
You have an entrancing kiss~ the kind that leaves
your partner bedazzled and maybe even feeling
he/she is dreaming. Quite effective; the kiss
that never lessens and always blows your
partner away like the first time.

What kind of kiss are you?

KNITTY IS HERE

The new Knitty is online. So cool I can't believe it gets better every time!

Felting Gone Bad

So I felted the wonderful grey test BoC hat and what can I say but, not what should have happen.
Is "Wonky" a word?!

The brim is doing this wave thing and no matter how much I try and mold it into the shape I want, it starts to wave again. It reminds me of a horrible hat I saw a picture of a hippie wearing.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Honey, Did You Have an Accident in the Hall....

or
Why I can't felt my hat right now...

Last wednesday in the middle of the night I stumbled out of the bedroom and into the bathroom to.... fix my makeup (you all wear make-up to bed right?) and the floor was wet. Nothing like wet socks in the middle of the night to let you know something's wrong.

My first thought was of course that my sleep walking husband may have had an accident. Luckily(or maybe not) it was a leaking pipe that goes to our shower. The next morning we called our landlord (hate this title, like he's royalty or something) and he said he would get to it after work that night.

To make a long story short, it was more involved than he thought and he patched it for a few days then came back to really fix it today. I had to run out this morning and when I came back, this is what I found...

yeah, what the...

So, we've been without water all day while this is being fixed and that means a lot, like what do you do with a child who thinks he has to pee every 20 minutes so he can bug the guy working in our bathroom. Or your kids all of a sudden decide water is their new favorite beverage.
It should be fixed today so I will be felting tonight....I hope.

A Scarf Miss Piggy Would be Proud Of!

Here is the scarf on H-bomb. He is such a willing model for his mama. He never charges a fee and works for PB&J sandwiches. For some reason Chloe doesn't want to have her picture taken....ever. I sort of remember that stage growing up, and getting ahem...a shape.

Anyhow, it was very easy to knit up on size 11's although it felt like I was knitting with giant logs.

Next up, Bucket-o-Chic in a dark heathered gray. It will be felted after knitting. This is only the practice hat to see how the pattern works felted. The really cool awsome one is scheduled for next week if all works out.

Why I Love a Bargain...

So, I went to the yarn store yesterday and spent over an hour trying different combinations for my Bucket-o-Chic hat. Nothing seemed to work. It has to be extra special and ultra cool. So, I bought some basic grey so I could felt one up as an experiment. I went to the less popular yarn store that has horrible sales help and even worse selection and found my muse. The only problem was the cost, $50 to make this hat. Those who know me will attest that I am, lets say, Frugal. So that was out.

I had to go to my local "Carry everything" type store and I knew they carried low end yarn but I thought I'd check anyway...I was there right.
Now the big moment, Did you know that Lion brand makes a Fur yarn?! And, it's the same quality as Techno and other Higher end yarns. Well, it just happened that the store was also having a sale on this yarn. $3.20 per skein for 60yds!!! Not only will I be able to do the hat I want, I also got enough to knit a scarf for my SIL for Christmas.

I'm calling it the "Muppet Scarf". Pretty Funky huh.

Sooo, I get to knit that hat I want, for cheaper, and all is well in the world!

p.s.
The hat is not out of this muppet color.

Done and on the RUN!

Slippers are finished and H-Bomb is very pleased. He really loves getting a good run going and sliding on the bare floor.
Pattern is Fiberworks Family Slippers and yarn is Cascade 220.

Fluffa has raised the bar on the bucket-along. Now what the heck am I going to do???

To the yarn store!
