Pajama Party

pjfabric, originally uploaded by That Bohemian Chick.

I have a few handmade items I'm making for x-mas this year. One of them is a slurry of flanel sleep pants. A total of 5 pair, thank-you very much!

Have I started? Well, if you count gathering materials then a resounding YES!

I also have a few other things on the needles. I did finish some knitting this week. Pictures to come soon.

How Low Can You Go?

From Dawn & Katie.

First Level of Hell - Limbo

Charon ushers you across the river Acheron, and you find yourself upon the brink of grief's abysmal valley. You are in Limbo, a place of sorrow without torment. You encounter a seven-walled castle, and within those walls you find rolling fresh meadows illuminated by the light of reason, whereabout many shades dwell. These are the virtuous pagans, the great philosophers and authors, unbaptised children, and others unfit to enter the kingdom of heaven. You share company with Caesar, Homer, Virgil, Socrates, and Aristotle. There is no punishment here, and the atmosphere is peaceful, yet sad.

The Dante's Inferno Test has sent you to the First Level of Hell - Limbo!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
LevelScore
Purgatory (Repenting Believers)Very Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)Very High
Level 2 (Lustful)Low

Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)Low
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)Moderate
Level 7 (Violent)Moderate
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)High

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

HPGoblet of Fire

This new Harry Potter movie is the best yet. However, it's not for the little ones.

C and I went to the midnight Harry Potter movie release here in town. C bought our tickets, she's getting so grown up. It was one of those things we'll always remember. We got there at 11:30 thinking we'd be there in plenty of time for a good seat. WRONG! The place was packed to capacity. The best we could get was second row, right side. It totally sucked. If it was less than a 300 degree angle, I would have been shocked. Tons of people were, "saving seats" for their friends who weren't there yet. I went and talked with the 12 yo...urrr I mean ticket taker and asked how long they were going to allow people to hold seats for others since it was so packed. He said it wasn't allowed to save seats. I scoffed in his general direction and said it was being done right now.

Back into the theater, I waited a few minutes still no reinforcements. C was visibly upset and mad at me because we didn't get there earlier. It was time to make something happen. There was one woman on an end, then an open seat, then 2 tweens then an open seat, in the center isle about ten rows from the back. After asking if either were saved (they weren't...WOOT!) I made the boys move down one and asked the lady to hold them for the 2 seconds it took for me to grab C from the crap seats in front. They were the perfect seats!

This movie made me jump so many times, I lost count. I've read the book so was familiar with the story. That little tidbit didn't matter much. It's such a visually intense movie. Some favorite parts: the National Quidditch Championship, the Dragons, the comedy throughout, Madam Maxine, the little bit of French they spoke I understood Woo Hoo! I'm sure there were more great parts but these are what come clearly to mind after 5 hours of sleep.

And the piece de resistance, when the film ended and we walked outside the theatre, there entire town was blanketed by a pea soup fog! I tried to take a picture and only got moisture particles.

You'll have to trust me,
It was magical!

Autumn Day

Fall Love

We went to the park today. It was later in the day (3:00 pm) and the sun was going down. We started to freeze our...well you get the idea. It was great for pictures though.

The yarn is from the contest Bonne Marie held for the world series. I'm planning on trying some toe-up socks. As you can see in the picture next to it, I finished the calico socks and yup, ran out of yarn for the toe of one....grrrrr! I'll have to wear some shoes that cover it when I wear them in public. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone.

What a beautiful fall day!

E-Day

E-Day

No, not election day silly. My niece E. We had a lot of fun yesterday. The top, she was sleeping on me and I just had to knit. Then, she was cute, then she tried to eat my book. Then I had to make sure I was knitting the right size for her noggin'(I had to adjust that photo to fit in the collage).

There's something cool about holding the person you're knitting for.

It's magical....

The Choxie Challenge

The Choxie Challenge

I'm sure you've all heard the online "buzz" about Target's new chocolate line. It's called Choxie (chocolate + moxie = Choxie...sounds like foxy) They are gourmet chocolates in creative packaging for a relatively low price (compared to gourmet candy).

I had to try some. Common' it's candy people. I got the Aztec Thin $1.50 and Troy got the chocolate covered espresso beans $2.50. Here's our review:

Aztec Thin: Pure milk chocolate with ground ancho chilies and ceylon cinnamon sprinkled with roasted cocoa nibs.
Chelee: Very good. I could have used a hint more chili flavor. The cinnamon was a bit distracting. The nibs on top were nice. And what do they mean "pure" milk chocolate. It has milk in it, so it isn't pure (my dark chocolate favoritism coming through)
C: love it! want more...
Troy:It tasted good. I'd eat it again.
H: HEY! What chocolate?! I never saw it!

Dark Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans: mini-roasted arabica espresso beans covered in rich, dark, chocolate.
Troy: Espresso beans in chocolate, what more can you ask for?
Chelee: tastes like any other chocolate covered espresso beans.
C & H:passed on this test, not big into the coffee.

I'm excited to try other kinds of the chocolate. I'm also drawn to the packaging like a moth to a bug zapper.

I can be such a sheep....

Mushroom Boy

Mushroom Boy, originally uploaded by That Bohemian Chick.

We found this great patch of mushrooms in our side yard. During vacation, I picked up a mushroom identifying book. This is a Agaricus crocodilinus. It's common name is Portabella. We didn't try it just in case I was wrong.

We went to a friends house where they treated us to chicken and dumplings, baked brie, blue cheese, and other wonderful snacks not to mention wine. YUM! The kids had a lot of fun trick-or-treating through the neighborhood . On one trip, I scored a discarded/lost tiara. It was a magical night!
