The Hitchhiker
I did it, I ordered another spinning wheel. It's called The Hitchhiker and it's from The Merlin Tree in Vermont.
This one has the advatage of being uber portable unlike my Ashford that takes up an entire seat and flops around. I'm worried one of these days the entire maidenhead will come crashing off.
When I called in my order, he said he would ship next week.
Now to decide about finishes. It comes plain jane and I really want to have some fun with it.
I'm thinking either Gnomes or Jack Kerouac.
I'd like to use stain vs. paint and maybe stenciling or decoupage.
Any ideas?

I've hichhiked a few times but never in this way. How cool is this contraption? It definatly deserves an amazing design. What about a Crumb looking thing.
Keep on Spinning (aka, Trucking). I don't know. I'll keep thinkin.
Oh, I'm sooo in love with those hitch-hiker wheels!!! I used to be a big-time hitch-hiker myself, and of course I opt for Kerouac. Great idea!!
Gnomes would be a riot. I am really impressed with that wheel! I love how the pedal is shaped like a foot.
I can't imagine using this thing but I would love to have it sit around my house for a little while just 'cuz it looks so cool. My first impression was Crumb's "Keep on Trucking".
