Martha's Yellow Cake
I baked Troy's Grandfather a birthday cake last weekend. He's just turned 80. Since he's a retired baker, there was no way I could get by with a box cake. He highly praised the cake. It's from the Martha Stewart Baking cookbook I got from the kids for x-mas. I used the yellow cake recipe with the Swiss Meringue Buttercream frosting. The filling is Bonne Maman strawberry preserves. Yum!

Yum!
Why do all your pictures of food look sooooo good?
Funny, it's remarkable like the one I made for my daughter's birthday last month. Totally different recipes pieced together in pretty much the same way. Although, I think I may have used a white cake recipe, if I remember right.
Yours looks lighter and fluffier than my cake was, which in my book is a definite plus. Delicious looking, anyway.
And, about the comment you left me: I don't ever remember feeling the baby drop like this before. Maybe I did and just don't remember, but it's definitely not cozy.
Yeah, umm...could you FedEx that piece over here...now? Thanks. :)
Looks delectable!

I really want to get this book.
YUM. I can't get over how thick that frosting is. Makes me want to bite into it!
Ooooo that looks so yummy. It makes me want to bake a cake, too. :)
Oh, man! That looks so good!
I need that book. Need.
